Lessons learned from food interview.

Lessons learned from food interview.

As an ethnographer, I have discovered the relationship between food and kinship and procreation in the china community. My interviewee is called Carsten. He is a friend who lives in the megalopolis, Shenzhen. The schools at the Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing Rural Development Institute. He comes from the Huang community. The Huang’s surname includes a subgroup that is often represented as the core of Huang’s identity, Jiangxia Huang, with a founding ancestor in the Tang dynasty, Huang Xiaoshan.

The interview revealed that we can presume, “Design is in Europe, living is in America, yet eating is in China.” I learned manners by which Huang people/groups see thoughts regarding the connection between food and family relationships and reproduction by the uncovered gendered experience of family relationships. Ladies uncover the function of sexual orientation in warmth, while for men, it is about protecting his family. It reveals the gendered experience of family relationships and social having a place. The interview also shows how Qin (a term utilized in china for family relationships) is based on the bond between the feeder and the fed.

I asked several open-ended questions relevant to my understanding of kinship, such as how cooking reflects and creates family or gender roles, Where food comes from whether the process of having a baby is similar to cooking? I learned that food plays a very significant role in forming kinship among the community. Symbolically food is an effective means to communicate cultural ideas from generation to generation. Thoughts of procreative cooking ingredients and vessels are indispensable to the reciprocal. Each appearance from the interview leads to food having a place with both a matrilineage and patrilineage. Men uncover their delight is from prepared food and intercourse. Food is used for cultural gatherings, exceptionally standard pot feasting. It is a vital lineage ritual at certain events, such as New Year or the birth of a son, and it contained a substantial amount of fat pork. It helps sustain the continuity of kingship in this case. The wife lives with her children, whom she has “cooked” through gestation and now nurtures them inside the marital, procreative kitchen, thus from the interview, food is an essential tool for procreation and generally kingship.
